Gold Plated Care

Our gold plated pieces are composed of a thick layer of gold over a stainless steel base. Stainless steels are most notable for their corrosion resistance.

We recommend removing jewelry before exercising, swimming in the ocean, and chlorinated pools to preserve its longevity. It is best you avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, or hair products as these may damage the metal plating and cause discoloration. 

If your jewelry needs a deeper cleaning ,soak in warm soapy water for a few minutes and dry with a soft non-abrasive and lint-free cloth. Gently rubbing the surface of your gold plated jewelry with a soft cloth, helps restore shine.

It is important to note that all metal is susceptible to wear and fade overtime. To preserve the longevity of your pieces please follow our care recommendations.

Gold-Filled Care

Gold Filled is next level and is an amazing alternative to solid gold. It is made by wrapping layers of solid gold sheets around the base metal. Gold-filled items do not tarnish, peel, or chip. It may become darker overtime, but will not turn to reveal a different metal underneath.

Gold-filled items are pretty low maintenance. They can be worn in the shower, while exercising, or swimming, but we still recommend avoiding harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, or hair products as these may damage the metal plating and cause discoloration. 

Gently clean your gold-filled items with a soft bristle brush and a small amount of detergent free soap. Always store when not in use your jewelry pieces individually preferably in your Mod Earth soft-lined pouch or eco friendly box, to avoid scratches and tangles.
